What services we offer at phoenix progress

Short-Term Respite & Emergency Provision

Longer-Term Provision linked with Schools

Longer-Term Provision linked with Schools

At Phoenix Progress, we understand that the classroom environment isn’t right for every young person, especially during times of crisis, transition or emotional dysregulation. Our short-term respite and emergency provision offers a safe, nurturing alternative for young people who are struggling to engage with school due to anxiety, emotional-based school avoidance, or unmet SEND needs. Whether a young person is at risk of exclusion, experiencing high levels of distress, or simply not “fitting in” with the expectations of mainstream education, we provide a gentle, stabilising space to pause, reset, and rebuild.

What We Offer:

  • Up to 15 hours a week of respite placements or short-term emergency slots for young people in urgent need of support.
  • A trauma-informed, child-centred approach delivered by qualified practitioners who specialise in SEND, PDA, and mental health.
  • Opportunities to build confidence and resilience through therapeutic activities, nature-based learning, and vocational workshops.
  • A calm, emotionally safe environment where young people are mentored, guided, and nurtured at their own pace.

Our team is trained to respond with empathy and expertise, helping young people re-engage with learning and life through trust, connection, and meaningful experiences.

Longer-Term Provision linked with Schools

For young people who need sustained, tailored support beyond short-term respite, Phoenix Progress offers a longer-term placement model that blends academic continuity with therapeutic exploration. This would be aimed at young people registered with mainstream schools with Phoenix Progress being a supportive element to that young person’s education, bespoke to that young person upon consultation with their school. Our aim is to re-engage young people in learning while nurturing emotional wellbeing, confidence, and life skills.

What We Offer:

  • Academic continuity: If appropriate, young people access their mainstream school curriculum via Chromebooks, supported by staff who scaffold learning and liaise with schools to ensure alignment.
  • Therapeutic exploration: Our 5-acre site, including woodland, grass areas, a walled garden, and greenhouse provides a rich environment for nature-based learning, sensory regulation, and confidence-building activities.
  • Personalised pathways: Each young person follows a bespoke plan combining academic goals, emotional support, and practical experiences.
  • Vocational and creative opportunities: From horticulture and conservation to art and outdoor projects, we help young people discover strengths and build transferable skills.
  • Relational safety: With small group sizes and high staff ratios, we foster trust, consistency, and a sense of belonging.

Whether a young person is awaiting a specialist placement, transitioning between settings, or simply needs a longer runway to thrive, our provision offers stability, purpose, and growth.
