Welcome to Phoenix Progress Alternative Provision, opening 23rd February in Claydon.

At Phoenix Progress, we understand that the classroom environment isn’t right for every young person, especially during times of crisis, transition or emotional dysregulation. Our short-term respite and emergency provision offers a safe, nurturing alternative for young people who are struggling to engage with school due to anxiety, emotional-based school avoidance, or unmet SEND needs. Whether a young person is at risk of exclusion, experiencing high levels of distress, or simply not “fitting in” with the expectations of mainstream education, we provide a gentle, stabilising space to pause, reset, and rebuild.
What We Offer:
• Up to 15 hours a week of respite placements or short-term emergency support for young people in urgent need.
• A trauma-informed, child-centred approach, delivered by a small team with experience in SEND, PDA and supporting students’ social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Opportunities to build confidence and resilience through therapeutic activities, nature based learning and vocational experiences.
• A calm, emotionally safe environment where young people are mentored, guided and supported at their own pace.
• A skilled and compassionate staff team who help young people re-engage with learning and everyday life through trust, consistency and meaningful relationships.

For some young people, short-term respite isn’t enough. Phoenix Progress can offer longer-term support for pupils who remain on roll at their mainstream school, with placements shaped around the needs of the individual and agreed in consultation with the school. The focus is on helping young people settle, re-engage with learning and build confidence over time.
