About Phoenix Progress

Our Mission

Phoenix Progress was set up to support young people who find mainstream education difficult to access or engage with. We provide a calm, supportive environment, including extensive outdoor space, where pupils are given the time, space and understanding they need to rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning. Our focus is on helping young people feel safe, understood and ready to move forward.

Our Philosophy

We provide a practical learning environment where sessions are linked to real life. Alongside academic learning, pupils take part in hands-on activities that help build skills for independence and wellbeing

  • Outdoors at the heart:  Our outdoor space is a key part of the day, giving pupils room to move, regulate and learn in a calmer setting. It is used regularly for outdoor learning, practical activities and group work, helping pupils reset when needed and engage with learning in a way that feels manageable.
  • Practical activities:  From building with Lego to creative activities and time in our dedicated sensory room, pupils take part in practical, hands-on activities that help build confidence.
  • Therapeutic support:  Therapeutic support is part of everyday life at Phoenix Progress. Our five acres of outdoor space, including a walled garden, are used in a therapeutic way, giving pupils opportunities to take part in care and conservation activities that help build trust, confidence and self-esteem.
  • Small groups, strong relationships: With high staff ratios and a dedicated qualified counsellor, we ensure personalised attention and emotional support for those who need it most.

Our Commitment

Every member of our team is fully trained, DBS checked and mental health certified. More importantly, we share a genuine commitment to supporting young people to grow and make progress at their own pace. We work together to provide a safe, supportive space.
